Fun Times at the Fall Festival

The smell of bonfires, hay bales, roasted hotdogs, and cider filled the air at Creekside at our Fall Festival.  As the Community Members arrived to the outdoor party they were greeted with Team Members in costume and a band playing wonderful music for dancing. Some of the Members decided to roast their own hotdogs while […]

Animal Artists at Work

Dickerson Park Zoo has a unique way of raising money for their foundation…..they sell art work done by the animals at the zoo!  It sounds crazy but it is true, our local zoo is home to many animal artists.  Our Community Members had seen a gallery of their art work on display at a local […]

Tooth Bag Fairies

Creekside has adopted the Ronald McDonald Tooth Truck as our new service project. The truck travels to schools throughout Springfield and a dentist performs exams for elementary school children who cannot afford to visit a dentist. The truck returns later to do the necessary follow up treatment and personal dental care education. Our Community Members make […]

Old Fashion Fish Fry

All of the members at Creekside were invited to an ol’ fashioned fish fry!  We enjoyed fried catfish, fried potatoes, coleslaw, corn bread, brownies and homemade tartar sauce!  We were even able to fry some of the rainbow trout that a number of our members had caught the day before during a fishing trip.  The […]

Fishing at Mountain Springs Trout Park

Just south of Springfield is Mountain Springs Trout Park!  In their pond they stock a lot of trout!  A group from Creekside spent an evening fishing; some of us for the first time!  Everybody caught at least two rainbow trout; our total take was 23 fish weighing a total of 36 pounds!  As exciting as […]

Up, Up, and Away

Community Members recently went to the National Weather Service Building on the northwest side of Springfield. Dan Gaede, the head Meteorologist, shared many interesting facts about how our local, regional, and global weather data is obtained. Everywhere around the world at the exact same time a weather balloon is released into the atmosphere to gather […]

Creekside Community Members Enjoy The Dutton Family

It’s tough not to take advantage of such great entertainment and performers when we live so close to Branson!  The Dutton family has been performing for 30 years together!  Appearing on the stage was mom and dad Dutton, five of their seven children and a lot of grandchildren too!  This is truly a family friendly […]

Scarves for Our School

Our members have taken on a monumental task! Just in time for Christmas, we hope to make enough scarves for each student! Our members have cut out yards of cloth, snipped yards of cloth and we’ve begun weaving yards of cloth. We will be working on this project over the next number of weeks, and […]

Creekside Team Members take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Challenged by Mikeal, our Executive Director, many of our team members took the Ice Bucket Challenge!  It was a blast to see the expressions while people anticipated the ice cold water and then their reactions after they had been doused by the water! The Leadership Team, the Housekeeping Team and the Dining Services Team all […]

Kissing a Goat for Alzheimer’s

Creekside Crusaders raised over $400 in our battle against Alzheimer’s! For three weeks each team member at Creekside had a glass jar with their name on it. At the end of three weeks the employee who had the most money in their jar “won” and had to kiss a goat! We had two winners; a […]
