Students from Springfield’s Sister City, Isesaki, Japan Visit Creekside

Isesaki, Japan is a sister city to Springfield, Missouri. Each year a group of students travels to America for a two week tour with Missouri State University. Part of the two week curriculum for the students entails visiting with a retirement community to learn how we care for our aging population. Creekside has been fortunate for two years to host two student groups from Isesaki while they visit Springfield.

The students and our member’s converse with each other; learning about each other’s families, interests, and hobbies. The students are so kind to sing songs for us and teach us Origami! A number of conversation groups even ended up playing cards together for fun! We top off their visit to Creekside with a tour of our beautiful campus where they are surprised to see the walking pathway along the creek and our forested areas!
