Creekside Continues Support of Convoy of Hope

Convoy of Hope is a faith-based, nonprofit organization based in Springfield. The goal of the organization is “to bring help and hope to those who are impoverished, hungry, and hurting.” Convoy serves both Stateside and internationally through feeding initiatives, community outreaches, and disaster response. They serve with excellence, and are recognized by many secular entities. In fact, FEMA asked Convoy of Hope to lead the donation coordination efforts to the state of Florida during the aftermath of Hurricane Irma.
With values of service, excellence, and integrity—all values of Vetter Senior Living—it was determined by both team and community members that this was an organization to support. In February, 2016, Creekside Community Members began going to the Convoy of Hope warehouse once a month to help with various projects. The Community Members have done everything from rolling t-shirts, to sorting vitamins, to packing pasta. One never knows what they are going to do! Recently, the Community Members voiced in an interest in helping hurricane victims. Creekside hosted a drive for items to put in hygiene kits Convoy is sending to Texas and Florida. The Creekside Community collected enough for twelve kits, and raised just under $400. What a beautiful thing it is to be part of such a giving, thoughtful community!
